Lauren edberg, tcrg/director

Bay Area native, Lauren Edberg, began her dancing career at age four with an emphasis on Irish Dancing. Her Irish Dance education started at the Moore School of Irish Dance under the direction of Sheila Moore Thurston. During her dancing career she competed at Regional, National, and World competitions as a solo dancer, as well as in many world qualifying Ceili Teams, Figure Teams, and Dramas. In addition to her competitive career she has performed for years in the Bay Area, and was hired to perform Internationally with the Gens Dy’s Irish Dancers.  Her dance experience and education in multiple dance styles gave her the opportunity to be selected as a student at the Saint Mary’s College of California LEAP program for professional dancers. After retiring from competitions, Lauren taught with her original school for five years before opening her own studio that would become Rohan Murphy Irish Dance Academy.  Lauren is excited for the future and growth of RMIDA! 

holly blank, Assistant teacher

Holly began Irish dance as an adult at age 21 with the O’Grady Quinlan Academy in Pennsylvania. After over a decade of dancing with OGQ, the McBride School, and Rohan Murphy IDA, she is preparing for the TCRG exam so she can share her love of Irish dance with others. She has completed all 12 Grade Exams, and continues to further her own dance training. She loves working with children and adults of all experience levels.

Meghan Sherry, Assistant teacher

Meghan began her dancing career at the age of 7 after a classmate showed off medals from a local competition; the desire to win her own hardware set her down the path to competitive Irish Dancing. Under the tutelage of Sheila Moore Thurston and Michael Dillon at DMA Irish Dance, Meghan’s training and hard work sparked a long competitive career where she accomplished many of her goals: Competing at regional, national and world championships. She achieved top results in solo dancing, ceili, figure and dance drama competitions. After 19 years of competitive dancing, Meghan has retired from the big stage to start her training for the CLRG teachers exam. She is very excited to join the RMIDA team and start this next phase of her Irish dance journey. 

FIONA MALLON, ASSISTANT TEACHER

Fiona Mallon has been Irish Dancing for the last 13 years. Her dance education is well rounded through her experience at McBride, Dillon Magh Adhair, and Rohan Murphy Irish Dance Academy. During her eventful competitive career she has attended regional, national and world championship competitions. Fiona is a 2020 graduate from San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, Ca. and will be continuing her education at Saint Mary’s College of California. While assisting she is continuing her training at RMIDA for competitions and eventually the CLRG teachers exam. Fiona is excited to share her love for dance and experience with the next generation of dancers!
